Common questions

Does it upload my photos?

No. All analysis happens on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. The Mac app has no network access, so it cannot send anything anywhere; the iPhone and iPad app makes no network connections of its own.

What is free, and what does the unlock add?

Scanning, the rankings, and removing exact (byte-identical) copies are free without limits. The one-time Full Unlock adds removal of near-duplicates, bursts and re-saves.

I bought the unlock on another device.

One purchase covers your iPhone, iPad and Mac. If a device still shows the lock, open the unlock screen or the app's Settings (the gear on iPhone and iPad, ⌘, on the Mac) and choose Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account. Family Sharing is supported.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone with iOS 18 or later, iPad with iPadOS 18 or later, and Mac with macOS 15 or later.

Can I get deleted photos back?

Yes. Removed photos go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app and stay there for 30 days.

The app says it can only see some photos.

You gave it limited access. On the Mac, change it in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos; on iPhone and iPad, in Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos.

The scan stopped when I left the app.

On iPhone and iPad a scan carries on in the background, but the system can still end it, for example when the battery is low. Nothing is lost: what was already analyzed is kept, and the next scan picks up from there.
